Coles Group x WorldPride
Everyone is Welcome at Our Table
Tables are a place where we can listen, a place where we can represent our various points of view, a place where we can be heard. And seen. And treated as equals.
This year Coles Group partnered with WorldPride. To announce the partnership we created a new Coles Group diversity and inclusion platform, Everyone is Welcome at our Table.
Working with James Dive and Scoundrel, we brought the platform to life with a one-of-a-kind extravaganza coinciding with Sydney Mardi Gras.
The concept saw a large central gown worn by Tyler Shaw, a Coles Store Manager by day and drag queen MisTy DelRay by night, that transformed into an enormous table, spanning four metres across Oxford Street. The impossibly beautiful Mardi Gras ‘centrepiece’ was surrounded by dozens of LGBTQIA+ Coles team members and allies.
Our table dress and chairs were not just a dramatic visual feast – they represent the Coles values of everyone being welcome.
The platform of Everyone is Welcome At Our Table launched alongside WorldPride but will live on across the Coles Group business as an ethos that invites openness, empathy and change.
At Mardi Gras, the 80-person strong parade featured LGBTQIA+ Coles team members and allies from across the country, as well as a Coles truck, decked out with glitter and speakers. The Coles float was picked up by Sunrise and Channel 9, as well as featuring in the ABC broadcast.
